Research Interests

I am primarily interested in the parent-child bonds that form during the early years and how this bond is highly related to subsequent relationships (e.g., peers, teachers, romantic partners) and different aspects of functioning in life. These aspects include language, executive functioning, academic achievement, and navigation of social settings. I am also interested in how we can use fun, accessible and relatively cheap community programs as a form of intervention and outreach. These include music, dance, martial arts and animals (e.g., horseback-riding). I have a particular soft-spot for individuals (especially infants and children!) with special needs, and am interested in working with individuals who have Quadriplegia Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Epilepsy and individuals who are deaf.

Personal

I am a child-at-heart who loves Elmo, Scooby-Doo, and Snoopy. I therefore get along very well with infants and children, especially those with special needs, and I enjoy working with them. During my spare time, I enjoy taking long walks, reading, travelling, and the performing arts (music, dance, theatre, etc.). I also enjoy sipping coffee with close friends and love curling up in bed with a good book (or sleep!) when the rain is pouring outside. I also love animals.
